Conversations with Caroline

Caroline is hilarious when she eats. If you ask her something, she will shake her head like she understands.

10 Months Old and Going Full Steam Ahead

Caroline just turned 10 months old this week and she is changing so fast. She does something new every few days. Right now, her favorite things happen to be Abby's favorite things. Uh oh! I play referee all day. Can't wait for her to be a little older and play with her sister. "I finally got the stethoscope! Better enjoy it before Abby snatches it away."

These cupcakes are her favorite thing of Abby's. Big sister is good at sharing these. I think it is because there are plenty to go around. She passes them out to all the dolls and Caroline.

If I put Caroline on the floor anywhere in the living room or kitchen, she immediately takes off for the indoor "play house."
She is also learning to play with The Little People. Forget the baby toys!
Kisses from Chloe
Caroline loves table food and is almost finished with babyfood. This is a funny face when trying her first piece of chicken nugget. She loves them now!

Abby's chair is popular also. Caroline loves to crawl in it, stand up and hold on to the back and then bounce. She has no fear. She can only touch the chair when Abby is not around. Thankfully, GiGi and PawPaw are giving her one for her birthday.

We will have to have identical strollers soon. Caroline wants this umbrella stroller as soon as she spots it. Abby and I try to get her to push her little stroller and although she can walk behind it independently, she always goes back to Abby's.

Big Girl Fun

My goal last week was to do a fun "big girl" activity with Abby every day during Caroline's morning nap, which is pretty short(about 30 to 45 min). When she went down, I would rush to set up what we needed and get Abby started. She enjoyed the one on one time. It is hard right now to do "big girl" things with Abby while Caroline is awake and getting into everything.Abby made mini pizzas. She is very focused and serious when making anything.
Abby sneaks some cheese. Caroline woke up at the end of our cooking session and wanted in on the action. It won't be long until she is a big girl and I can't wait!We played a game one day. This is Abby's first success at playing a board game. We actually followed the rules and made it through until she won. Was there any doubt who would win?

In Deep Thought
This was the most fun activity. We dyed Easter Eggs. She is smelling the vinegar in this pic.
We dyed some the old fashion way.
We also used a fun painting kit for some.
She did not like getting it on her hands. I did the messy job.
She was very proud of her finished products.

Do as I Say

Last weekend, Abby gave PawPaw some commands. He was a good granddad and did what he was told. They were playing and she stopped and said, "Lay down." She was a good teacher and demonstrated what to do."Roll over."Then she got up and got on his back. We put Caroline on for the ride too. The picture is blurry , but you get the idea. The girls had lots of good playtime. Caroline has to be watched constantly as she puts everything in her mouth!! This is a big challenge because Abby has toys that are too small for her.

Bouncing

Abby had her first bounce house experience last weekend at Nonnie's school carnival. Every other time we had been around a bounce house I felt it was too crowded for her to try. This was her big chance to bounce as teachers got to bring their kids and grandkids an hour before the doors opened. Not many people came early so she had free reign. Pops got a big workout!

Gold Medal Winner

Abby had Sports Day last Wednesday at school. Her class team name was the Busy Bees. They all got a medal for participation. She was very proud of it and walked around for days with it on saying, "look at my nickel."I think this day was the most fun day she has had at school. They went around to different stations all morning. Some of the activities were silly relay races, basketball, bowling, kicking soccer balls and playing with hula hoops and a giant parachute. Oh, to be a kid again!
