Happy Birthday, GiGi and PawPaw!

We went to Spring this past weekend to celebrate GiGi and PawPaw's birthday. Poor Caroline fell asleep during dinner and missed blowing out the candles. Abby didn't miss a beat. She took on her party coordinator role. If Abby is ever at your party, you can sit back and relax. She opens all your presents for you.

Caroline is going to be into everything soon. She loved playing with the knobs on this piece of furniture. Abby and Uncle Phil test out the Mickey Mouse bubble blower.

Aunt Haley ate her share of plastic food this weekend. It was so nice for me to have another chef in the kitchen.

Haley brought books she had in her preschool classroom. This Barney book was falling apart by the end of the weekend. Abby-"Again, PawPaw."Brent caught lots of little fish with Abby's pink fishing rod. She wouldn't have anything to do with it. Maybe next time.

She just wanted to play at the playground. Here she is full steam ahead. Not a minute to lose.

Valentine Picnic

The Anderson Family had a great Valentine's Day! Abby had fun at her little school party. She decorated cookies and exchanged Valentine cards. Hers were Minnie and Mickey. We had fun making them during the snow days. Nonnie came over and went walking with us. The weather has been gorgeous!

I got to have a long chat with my best friend, Ruth. I don't take for granted talking to her on the phone now that she is back in Texas. We were deprived of phone dates when she lived in China for 18 months. I also had a good visit with both of my grandmothers.

Brent surprised us when he got home with cards, perfume and a singing Mickey and Minnie. We started a tradition this year of having a romantic indoor picnic complete with candles and twinkle lights. Caroline fell asleep for her evening nap, but Abby loved it! We will definitely do it every year on Valentine's Day night. Thanks everyone for a special Valentine's Day! As Brent said, while we were eating, "These moments are what life is all about."
Abby chows down on her spaghetti. Notice all of her friends joined us on the blanket. After we ate, we opened the Valentine cards that came in the mail and went through Abby's bag of school cards. She had fun trying to blow out the candle.

Valentine Party

I have really enjoyed my Trophy Club baby playgroup this year. We joined it in September and meet every week. There are about ten moms in the group with kids two and under. I have had fun going to it with Caroline while Abby is at school on Mondays. Sometimes Abby goes with us to special events like this Valentine Party we had yesterday. It was at Cabella's and all the playgroups of Trophy Club attended.

I was in charge of decorations and if you know me well, this involved tulle, tablecloths, strings of heart lights, giant paper hearts etc . . I am ridiculous when it comes to things like this. You would have laughed seeing me unload in the horseshoe at the front of the store. I have to brag on my girls this once and say that they were troopers while I unloaded and set everything up. Abby even pulled the rolling icechest with the juiceboxes. We were quite a sight. I could feel all the men in Cabella's laughing inside at us. Ha Ha!

Abby dusts her hands off after feeding the fish in the picture above.
The kids went on a little tour and got to touch a tadpole and a turtle. If you guessed that Abby did not take part in the petting of these creatures, you are right! This girly girl came close, but then decided to just be an observer.

Growing Up Fast

Can you believe our sweet Caroline is drinking from a sippy cup now? I think it feels good to her gums and she loves the water. She has two bottom teeth that have finally come through and I feel two on the top.

Field Trip to Fort Worth

Woohoo! Saturday the metroplex finally thawed out and we were dying to go somewhere for some fun. We headed to the Fort Worth Children's Museum. It was also the last weekend for the stock show so we took advantage of all the events and looked at the animals and shopping booths while we were there.Caroline was happy to roll around in her stroller and look at everything. She loved these taillights at the stockshow.
Abby checks out the chicks. She walked around with her hand on her nose saying "stinky" the whole time we looked at the animals. She wasn't a fan.

Running through the crocodile mouth at the museum. She had so much fun running around after being cooped up all week.
Here come Caroline and Daddy!

Abby absolutely loved this pretend grocery store. I guess it was hit hard before the winter storm. The shelves were bare. The kids were really moving the food from cart to cart instead of reshelving any of it.
Going through the line. Another kid was ringing up her food.
Pretending in the hospitalWatch out! Ambulance coming through.

Cabin Fever

After four days of being snowed in last week, we had cabin fever! Here are some pics of the girls during our days at home. This is the first day with no power for about 6 hours. It got pretty cold. Luckily, we had lots of firewood and Brent kept a big fire going.
Abby played in her little house (the transformed mudroom) quite a bit.

I have never pretended to eat more plastic food in all my life than I did during this snowstorm.

Curling up with a good book.

Caroline has storytime with PawPaw. She is really interacting with the peek-a-boo books now.

It was nice to have GiGi and PawPaw stuck here with us. They entertained the girls. GiGi had her share of plastic food too. Paw Paw figured out Caroline loves to "ride a little pony."
When the roads were finally clearing up, we headed to Nonnie and Pops. Abby is looking at the remnants of the snowmen Nonnie and Pops built. A baby for Caroline and a big one for Abby. The day before, when they were dressed and hadn't melted, Abby was a stinker and wouldn't let me get her picture with them.

Singing and Dancing

Abby and Caroline are both chatter boxes these days and Abby sings constantly. I tried to get some of it on camera and had some luck getting Abby's singing. Stay tuned for Caroline's baby talk. Everytime I got the camera, she was all talked out.

Abby takes care of her babies all day. Here she is singing Rock a Bye Baby.

Abby dances to Barney. She has so much energy. As you can see, Little Caroline does too! I'm in trouble.

a

Everytime she works her alphabet train puzzle she sings the ABC song. I had to coax her to do it this time because the camera was on.
