Bay City Spring Break Get Away

Spring Break was very different this year.  My grandmother, Jewell Matkin, passed away at the beginning of the week.  She would've been 97 years old in June and had a good, long life. While she will be missed by all who knew her, we know she is in a better place. We attended her funeral in East Texas toward the end of the week and returned home as everything was closing down due to the Coronavirus.

However, Nonnie and I were glad to get to Bay City on the front end of spring break for a couple of days to let the girls have a trip to the beach and bring Momo back. Here are some pics from our beautiful day on Matagorda Beach.

Collecting Seashells

Momo watched us play a game of putt putt from a bench at the Nature Center.

Fun Times in February

February always flies!  We found some time to play new games we got for Christmas.

Birthday Party Art

Abby checked out our new Macy's Market one evening while Caroline had play practice.  They have  an interactive children's department.

 Valentine Parties at School

We made our heart cake and had our traditional spaghetti dinner at home.

The girls were out of school on Valentine's Day so we surprised the VanCleave boys with lunch at their school.

We celebrated GiGi's and PawPaw's birthdays on one of their visits.
My camera took a series of sweet pics.

Abby's Confirmation

We celebrated Abby's confirmation the last Sunday in February.  She went through five weeks of classes at our church and we are so proud of her for deciding to accept Jesus as her savior.

She is now an official member of White's Chapel UMC.
We were lucky to have so many family members with us to celebrate. I went crazy with the pictures!

Abby has already brought so much joy to so many people in her eleven years!  We can't wait to see all the things God has planned for her future!
