Birthday Wishes for Grandmother

Last week Grandmother came to town and we celebrated her birthday one night. The girls love all our little birthday parties.
Abby cracks us all up on a daily basis. She is so verbal and animated. Who knows what she is saying here?!

This girl can eat! She eats so fast, I don't think she ever even chews.

Hooray for Dads!

Last weekend we had fun celebrating Father's Day. Brent and I took the girls to the Dallas Aquarium. It was awesome! The rainforest was fun to walk through and had so many animals in it. I was amazed. Flamingo Central

We tried to get pictures of the girls looking through this tank, but the reflection was bad. You get the idea.

We walked through a glass tunnel filled with sharks.

Caroline really took it all in.

Looking down to the lower level. The aquarium is designed to replicate a rainforest with three levels.

I don't know if you can see, but Caroline's mouth is wide open. She made some funny expressions during this outing. She is looking at the sting rays.

After the aquarium, we ate lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse. The troops were getting tired, but we had a fantastic waiter who got our food super fast. Abby loved eating in the caboose. So exhausted, she was in a daze. Sunday, Father's Day, we ate lunch with Nonnie and Pops.

The girls took turns getting pushed around in a shirt box. "Let's play dolls, Pops."

Testing out the inflatable travel pillow we gave Pops for his trip to Europe next week.

Abby made Mickey Mouse cards for all the men in her life.

After lunch, we went for a dip in the neighborhood pool.

That night, GiGi and PawPaw came to town. We met them for Bar-B-Que at Cooper's in Fort Worth.

Helping PawPaw with his present.

"Yep, it's going to fit."

This cowgirl got comfy and chowed down on her plastic sandwich.

Nothing more fun than swinging back and forth in a little tub.

Beauty Shop

We had the pleasure of having Momo here for about 7 weeks. Abby LOVEd sitting in Momo's room on the bed with her. She would run to her room at Nonnie's house every day ready to work puzzles or play beauty shop. She got her hair rolled in Momo's curlers. Momo also painted her toenails and fingernails for the first time. I can't believe we had never done her nails before. I am a girly girl and have always been on top of the bow situation, but this little activity slipped my mind. I think we will reserve manicures and pedicures for the grandmothers to do with Abby and Caroline. I am doing good if we are clean and nails are trimmed.

Abby enjoyed the extra undivided attention from Momo. She has only been gone a few days and we already miss her!

Surprise!

Dad, Momo, Ryan and I planned a surprise retirement party for Nonnie. It was last Saturday night at their neighborhood clubhouse. We had fun kicking off Nonnie's retirement with friends and family. After a mexican dinner, we surprised her with a video montage of pictures from her life and video clips of ex-students reflecting on memories from her class.

Surprise!

Kyle, Buddy and Robert know how to get a party going!

Momo, Tommy and Ryan

I could not have pulled off this party without Momo's help!

The Big 1

Caroline celebrated the Big 1 last weekend! We had a fun day celebrating with friends and family.I thought she would dig into her cake, but she followed in her sister's footsteps and barely touched it. These girls do not like to be dirty or messy!

"Please don't make me touch that sticky stuff." I thought if I held her, she might dig in. We stopped trying, when the tears started. The birthday girl should not be made to cry.

Anna and Abby chat and eat their cupcakes.

Caroline had lots of help opening her presents. She got her own anywhere chair, piano, pottery barn doll, laptop and stroller. It has been a little more peaceful around the house with duplicates of these toys. Caroline hangs out with family. She really likes Nonnie's new necklace.

Momo checks in on the birthday girl.

Caroline didn't like the cake, but she chowed down on all the brunch food.

Berries are a must!

Enjoying some refreshments!

After brunch, cake and presents, the kids had fun playing together.Caroline changed into comfy clothes and tested out some new toys.Tollie had entertainment while she ate.Abby gives Little Bubba a lesson on jungle animals.
