Spring Snapshots

Wow!  I can't believe it is May!  Here is a look at our happenings from March and April.  The girls stayed home from school a few days in March with a mild case of the flu.  When they were feeling better, they were glad to have each other home for some game time.
Daddy and Caroline had a Star Wars marathon.
March brought Aunt Mary's birthday, . . .
 . . .selfies of missing teeth, . . .
  . . . Caroline's 100th Day of school project, . . .

. . . and Abby's open house at school.  She wrote a biography of Abigail Adams.
Timeline of Abby's Life

She was so proud of her work and excited to share it with us.
She decided to add something to this paper.
Mrs. Whitfill
The Easter Bunny hid eggs while we were in California.

We celebrated Easter in transit and then again the next week.  We dressed up in our Easter clothes for the following Sunday service.

We started April with a visit from GiGi and PawPaw.  GiGi and the girls did some shopping.

We made smoothies, . . .
 . . .Played games, . . .
 . . .had movie time, . .
. . .and GiGi and PawPaw took Abby for a cold treat and to the park while Caroline was at a friend's birthday party.

I worked Caroline's Sports Day in April.  It was a little sad thinking this was our last one at Chapel Hill.

We hosted a cook out for our block a couple of weekends ago.  This meant we needed to plant flowers.  The girls were a big help.

We all went to Costco to get our food for the big event and the girls discovered a pizza making machine while they ate dinner.  We couldn't believe we had never seen it.

Our cook out was great fun!  Ten houses came and the kids had a blast playing for hours.

Caroline and Emilie enjoyed a play date with their dolls at Central Market one morning.

A few Sundays ago, we enjoyed Caroline's spring program.  We found her self portrait and heard her sing a couple of songs.  It was a sweet show.

Abby was glad to see her 4 year old teacher, Mrs. Connie.
After her singing, she was ready for a cookie and lemonade.
We have two bike riders now!  Caroline decided one day she wanted her training wheels off and didn't stop practicing until she had it down.  After a few days on her balance bike, she was riding like a pro.  This inspired Abby and by the end of the next week, she was riding without her training wheels.  We've been taking the bikes up to our high school parking lot in the evening so we don't have to worry about cars and it is nice and flat.  Brent gets all the credit for their riding.  He got a lot of running in these two weeks.

Last weekend, we enjoyed dinner on the patio at Cheesecake Factory and then browsed around Art in the Square.  We saw some unique and very expensive art.

We have seen a few plays the past couple of weeks.  Brent and I took the girls to Seussical Junior at Casa Manana in Fort Worth.

Nonnie took us to see Wicked in Dallas.  Caroline's Musical Theater recital dance is from this musical so that was exciting for her to see.
This past Thursday night we saw Alice in Wonderland at church.
Abby and Caroline were excited to see one of our neighbors appear on stage.

Last night, Nonnie and Pops took the girls to a Junie B. Jones Musical at our high school.
Nonnie saw a former student's mom who gave the girls a goody bag with Junie B. books and glasses.  After the show, they took Abby and Caroline to eat dinner and have ice cream at the square.

Friday night, Brent and I took the girls to their first Ranger game in Arlington.  We lucked out with some thunderstorms clearing out early and staying south the remainder of the evening.
We sat down and spotted a gorgeous rainbow.
The girls thought it was neat to see Six Flags in the distance.

Snacks were the highlight and we ran into Abby's kindergarten teacher on the way out.  It was a fun way to kick off the weekend!
