Breakfast with Caroline

Caroline is so funny!  When she sees me get the camera, she shuts her eyes tight and waits for the flash.  As you can see, Minnie is her favorite friend at the moment.

Caroline is very vocal and can be very loud for such a small person.   I tried to get some of her talking on video.  "Minnie," "paci," and "nana"(banana) are words we hear often.

Aggie Yell

Brent got excited about the upcoming football season and started playing the Aggie War Hymn the other day.  Then, Abby wanted it played over and over.  Next thing you know, both Daddy and Abby had their boots on marching around the house.
Abby is always surprised we have corps boots in our closet after she sees them on the computer.

Caroline got really wound up during our little Aggie pep rally and started walking in circles until she would fall.

First Day of School

Abby is going to the school at our church again this year and yesterday was her first day.  She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays and her teachers are Ms. Shelley and Ms. Julie.  Her first day was fantastic.  No tears!
The only way we could get her to stand still for a pic without covering her face was to tell her there might be a caterpillar on this plant.  She got busy searching and didn't notice me snapping some pics.
Abby is such a big girl this year.  She can wear her backpack and carry her lunchbox all by herself.
She started to twist her hair as she was about to enter the classroom.  She was a little nervous.

Flashback

Last Sunday and Monday, Nonnie, Pops and Brent kept the girls so Ruth and I could sneak in a trip to Aggieland for Rush.  My cousin Ashley, is a freshman there and it was our perfect excuse to go back to our old stomping ground.  We toured the new Zeta house and took the actives a cookie cake.  It was fun to see Ashley's dorm and, of course, we had to stop by The Chicken.  Thanks for making the trip with me, Ruth!  It is always fun to reminisce about the good old days. I think my eyes are closed in this picture, but I had to post about our trip and this was the only picture we took (on Ruth's phone).

A Little Vacation

We have had an eventful August!  Although we have been busy with lots of activities, I took a little break from my normal picture taking and blogging.  It has been fun to go and do things without looking through my camera most of the time.  I will attempt to recap what we have been up to with the few pics I did take and with our fall routine starting this week, I will be snapping those pics again.

A few weeks ago, GiGi, PawPaw, Aunt Haley and Uncle Phil kept the girls one weekend in Spring while Brent and I headed to Galeveston for a little R&R.  It was just the thing I needed to reenergize!  We stayed at the Galvez, enjoyed some delicious seafood and saw the new Tuna show at the Grand Opera House.
After our weekend trip, Brent headed home with my dad and brother, who were on their way back from Bay City.  The girls and I went with Nonnie and Momo back to Bay City for a couple of days.  While there, we explored this old caboose in town.

Slumber Party

We were very lucky this week to get a visit from Ruth and her kids.  Yeah!  Zeta Fun!  Kristin and Grey joined us for dinner and playtime and Tollie got to come by later after work.  We have been dragging a little trying to survive this horrible heat and having the company was a good break from our normal routine.   These two are 1 week apart.  I like watching them interact.  Caroline just wanted to touch him everytime he would let her get close.
Abby is checking out Betsy's pajamas.  She adored Betsy and followed her everywhere.  If she lost track of Betsy, she would ask "Where is Betsy? Betsy, Where are you?"  Betsy is almost exactly 1 yr older than Abby, so these two got along well.
 Jack-in-the-Box Entertainment
John was a sweet boy to play with all these girls.  He was a little out numbered.
Abby got Betsy all set up in her little bed.  She tucked her in and then said she would sleep on the floor next to her.
Switch! This went on for awhile.  Of course, you know where Abby slept.  With Mommy and Daddy.
This morning, Abby sat up in bed and said, "Where is Betsy?"  It was right back to playtime.  I forgot to get a pic with my friends, but we had a great time catching up.  Love my sisters!!

Rise and Shine

Both girls have really come to like watching a cartoon when they wake up.  They love their stuffed animals and always cuddle with one while watching.
Pooh and Barney are Caroline's favorite friends at the moment.
Abby will occasionally get up and dance.
