Farewell to 659 Daingerfield Street

This past weekend we made the trip to Pittsburg, Texas to visit my Grandmother in her house for the last time. My Grandmother and Granddaddy built this house the year I was born. I have fond memories of spending holidays there and playing with my cousins for hours in the "toy closet." Grandmother is moving in with my aunt and uncle who are relocating to Lindale. It was sad to say goodbye to this house we all grew up visiting, but I know Grandmother will be happy and able to relax in her new home. Caroline gets time with her great grandmother in this picture. I'm glad she got to visit this house before the big move! Abby had fun on the trampoline.

She also had fun playing with these necklaces Grandmother got in Hawaii. We went through lots of keepsakes this weekend. Grandmother let Abby have these for playing dress up.
Pops entertains Garrett and Abby.
Abby and Bubba draw their names for the Christmas gift exchange this year. Lots of quilts are in these pictures. Each grandchild got to pick one. They were made by our great, great grandmothers.

The battle is over . . .

. . . and she won. As many of you know, Abby crawled out of her crib the night of July 4th and had to be moved into her toddler bed. The grin on her face is due to the fact that Brent and I have given in to our struggles with keeping her in her big girl bed. She now sleeps with us most of the night. I am more exhausted than I have ever been in my life due to this little toddler popping up at all hours of the night. No more sleeping on the floor by her toddler bed. I give up! I must get some sleep. "I'm so comfy here. I don't know why they want me to sleep in that little bed all by myself. This suits me much better."

1-2-3, Look at Me!

"My sister is always on the go and can do lots of things, but I can do some pretty cool stuff too." "I can hang out in my room with my rocking lamb. I can't wait to ride that thing one day."

"I can visit my friends in the rainforest." "Hey, Mr. Giraffe."

"I like to have tummy time. I practice lifting my head. "
"Whoa! Here she comes for another kiss!"

"I love to stretch out and watch my bear mobile."

"I can swing and when I don't fall asleep in it, I like to reach for the fish."

"I can sit in my boppy and talk in my sweet baby talk."

"This is my coolest trick. I can wink and chew on my arm at the same time. I really like to suck on my hand and arms right now. Pacifiers are not for me."

Counting Sheep

I am happy to report that Caroline is awake and counting these sheep during the day and sleeping at night. Yeah! She eats around 10:00 and sleeps until about 4 or 5. After she eats, she gets swaddled and jiggled back to sleep.

"Those sheep are way up there, but I'm going to try and reach them."

Who's Got Me Now?

Caroline has had quite a few visitors since she arrived. I've tried to be good with my camera and get a pic of everyone holding her. I goofed and didn't get a picture of my Aunt Lynn from Tyler when she came, but I did get some shots of the girls in these coordinating dresses she brought them.

"Hi, Aunt Haley!"

Aunt Mary and Josh get some Caroline time.

Who needs Emeril . . .

. . .when you've got a Paw Paw and a Pops? Abby has had several cooking lessons with her granddads. They are both fantastic entertainers and keep a smile on this toddler's face. We are lucky to have them!

Yeah! Paper muffin cups!

A Zeta Fix

A visit from my Zeta pledgesisters was just what I needed after a month of adjusting to life with a toddler and a newborn. We had a great time! It was fun to see our kids all together. Abby followed Betsy everywhere monitoring what toys she played with. We are working on sharing.

The girls were too funny during this photo shoot. Abby was mesmorized by the swords and Betsy was lounging over on the other side of the sofa.

We ate burgers at Kincaid's. The babies hung out in their carriers.

"Hmmm. She seems to be treating Elmo O.K. I'll keep an eye on her though."

We went to Southlake Square for icecream and pics by the fountain.

Stars and Stripes

Fourth of July is different with two little ones, but we had a good long weekend. Nonnie and Pops cooked out several times and we went to Southlake Town Square to see the festivities and eat icecream. Sunday night, Brent and I got the girls ready for bed and and drove across Trophy Club to see fireworks. Caroline fell asleep, but Abby ended up watching the whole show in Brent's lap in the front seat. We rolled down the window to hear the popping. To our surprise, Abby was very interested and not one bit scared. I guess she really has no fear.

Abby likes to give her sister lots of kisses. I had fun dressing the girls up for pictures.
