Towers and Teeth

Two activities the girls love to do these days are build tall towers and brush their teeth.
Daddy helps Abby construct these skyscrapers, while I help Caroline with her little mega blocks, which are just her size.
The best part:  knocking down their creation
Brushing teeth has become a task we do everytime Abby walks through the bathroom.

Buckle Up! It's a Wild Ride!

I took these clips a week ago.  It is amazing how much Abby's driving improved over the past week.  We had nice weather and got out every day to practice.

January Weekend

We celebrated Nonnie's birthday this weekend and enjoyed some unseasonable weather.

Caroline slides over and over until she takes a break to slide her doll.
Abby is learning to play soccer.  I am going to sign her up to be on a team with her classmates this next fall.
Little Bubba played lots of soccer when he was a kid and had fun giving Abby some pointers.

Garden Club's Youngest Members

Last weekend, Nonnie and I hosted a bridal shower for Courtney Elseman.  Our families met when Courtney was just a toddler and we're all very excited for her big day in March.  The girls helped us with the centerpiece.
Dropping marbles in the vase proved to be a fun chore.

They both took the arranging very seriously.
Group shot with the Mother of the Bride, Sister of the Bride, and Courtney.  We had a great time celebrating!

Pretend Play

The girls and I stayed with Nonnie and Pops last weekend while Brent was on a hunting trip.  Nonnie found this cardboard playhouse while we were out one day and was excited to set it up in her den for the girls.  One day, we can color it.  For now, they have a ball pretending to live in it.

It is pretty large.  Luckily, Pops can get in it with Abby and Caroline. I have fond memories of playing in my own red brick cardboard playhouse with my dad when I was little.  He would pretend with me for hours.
This weekend, Pops made up story after story and even made sound effects.  Abby and Caroline both sat entranced, listening to every tale.
Abby found these masks in her closet a few weeks ago.  I don't remember where we got them, but they provide lots of entertainment.  The girls will wear them for thirty minutes at a time.  Abby walks around mooing and Caroline says "grrrrr!"
It cracks me up to have this little bear and cow walking around in the kitchen while I make dinner.

A Kid Friendly New Year's Eve

As usual, Brent and I were in bed way before midnight on New Year's Eve.  However, we did have a few fellow Aggie families over to watch our bowl game earlier in the day.  The kids set up shop in the playroom.

They played store for a long time.
We can always count on Brandon to provide some entertainment.  He organized a game of hide and seek in the backyard.

Greyson and Caroline mowed and drove the car.  We had to make them all come back inside-they were having so much fun.  It was a beautiful day!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Abby is heading out to sprinkle her reindeer food in the yard on Christmas Eve night.

Caroline watches the preparations.
The girls were literally speechless when they woke up Christmas morning to find Santa had left everything on their list.  They walked around for a minute just taking it all in.
Then, they came to their senses and gathered their new people to take along on their first ride in the jeep.

The girls are funny driving around in their jeep.  Abby is already a pretty good little driver.  She always makes sure Caroline is buckled up and then asks her, "Are you ready, Caroline?" Then, as she pushes and releases the gas petal, Caroline's head jerks back and forth.  Caroline's favorite thing to do is control the radio.

The stockings were stuffed full of fun surprises.  They both really liked their new pooh toothbrushes.
Abby asked Santa for kid size shmops and her wish was granted.
Everytime I clean the floors, my little Merry Maids are right by my side.

Fa la la la la

Abby and Caroline really had a good time with presents this year.  Abby is old enough to understand what is going on and Caroline is always one step behind her.
The night before Christmas Eve we opened gifts with Nonnie, Pops and Little Bubba.

We have puppet show performers now!  Caroline lets us know the show times.
Bravo, Abby!
These Minnie Mouse Statue of Liberties were a hit.
Caroline conked out on her new sleeping bag after all that unwrapping.  We traded gifts with the White side of the family Christmas Eve, but I wasn't on the ball with my camera.  Also, Santa visited that night and I will post those pics soon.  Stay tuned!
The girls arrived at GiGi and PawPaw's in their pj's Christmas morning to find that Santa had filled their stockings in Spring also!

Yeah! The girls got mowers and  a sand and water table.  I am looking forward to some new activities for the yard.

Cabbage Patch Dolls and Cash Registers
Caroline is into dolls at the moment.  She is so sweet to her babies and takes good care of them.
Helping Aunt Haley

Say cheese!
Lin and Abby play her new Cootie game.
Caroline takes a break from mowing to rest in her favorite spot.
After two days of hard play, the girls were tuckered out again and headed for their sleeping bags.
