We had a week full of Christmas festivities before the actual day arrived. The weekend before Christmas, we had our Matkin family Christmas in Lindale.
The girls didn't know what to think of Aunt Mary Ann's antlers.
The Kitchen Crew
The girls are always up for a game of hide and seek. I think someone was under the table.
Grandmother had plenty of entertainment during our visit.
Caroline rocked next to Grandmother for a good while. She had played hard.
"Look what I found, Kellie's megaphone!"
"Hat! Hat!"-We hear this constantly. Almost everything can be turned into a hat.
"Nonnie, are you in there?"
We celebrated Pop's 60th birthday with everyone.
These little musicians played tunes all day. At one time, there were five kids on the bench. I wasn't fast enough with my camera to get a picture of it.
Passing out Presents
Abby was very excited to get some new high heels for her dress up collection.
The five 2nd cousins were an active bunch. Garrett and Camden played some football.
Caroline was thrilled to get her own Mickey, Pluto and Donald. Now both girls have each of the characters. This makes my life a lot easier.
She is always trying to share and hands anything and everything to anyone who will take it.
We headed to Northpark Mall one day to see the Ronald McDonald train exhibit. The girls were battling colds and were hilarious blowing their noses in the car.
Momo was in town and joined us for this outing.Caroline wanted to touch everything.
Abby had a good attention span and really checked out all the different cities and trains in the exhibit.
Caroline liked the trains that were on her level. She is pointing to Thomas the train here.
We strolled by Santa so the girls could give him a wave.
I had to get a pic in front of the famous Santa and reindeer made out of pecans.
At some point during all the holiday field trips, we celebrated Pop's birthday again with Momo and the White family.
The girls played dolls with Aunt Mary for a long time.
Friday, we decided to go to the Gaylord. The girls got warm by the fire while we waited on Pops and Little Bubba to park
The decorations were amazing.
What Abby does . . .
. . .Caroline must do.
The girls took a peek inside this lifesize gingerbread house.
All Santa's reindeer were dressed up and on display around the hotel. The girls were not cooperating for a pic with this one.
Caroline wasn't her usual happy self this day. As you can see, the paci was a necessity.
We didn't stop at the Gaylord. We had one final outing. The local toy store, Owl's Nest, had Comet the reindeer visiting.
The girls liked seeing a reindeer up close. Actually, we all did!
