Go Dragons!

We've had another great year cheering for our Dragon pee wee team!  The girls were on the same squad this year with girls from our school.

Halftime snacks are always a treat!
Fun with Megaphones

Our school had a tailgate for the staff at one of the varsity games.  It happened to be the night the girls went on the field with their cheer squad.

They thought it was really neat to tailgate with their teachers.

Meet the Teacher, the First Day of School and Some Music to My Ears

Meet the Teacher was a very exciting morning for all of us, as the girls met their new teachers at their new school and I met my students.  We couldn't have received a warmer welcome from the faculty. Abby and Caroline got a pic with Ms. Wagnon, our principal.
My First Grade Team

Abby immediately made friends with several girls in her class.  She knew one from dance.

 Mrs. Lasater
Caroline and Miss Moore had an instant bond.

Ms. Jones and Ms. Evans are reading teachers at our school.  It is so fun to have teachers at the school who taught with Nonnie and knew the girls since the day they were born.
Before leaving, the girls stopped by my room.  We were off to a great start!
The Saturday before school started, we went to Bass hall to see The Sound of Music.
Caroline had a Do-Rei-Me at intermission.  It was so nice to sit and enjoy a musical after the hustle and bustle of getting my school room ready.

The Sunday before school started, our church had a Dr. Seuss themed Sunday complete with cotton candy.
 First Day of School

I loved walking Abby and Caroline into preschool at church every day and was so sad when that part of our life ended. Now I love watching them walk down to their classrooms in the morning in a school I love so much.  I can remember first helping my mom in those very halls in 1996 when my parents moved to Southlake and teaching there myself from '05 to '08.  Now 9 years later I am back in those halls watching my girls walk to class.  It's pretty cool.
