Trick or Treating with Cinderella and Her Fairy Godmother

Every year, the girls get more excited about Halloween.  We took this holiday to a new level in 2015 with a giant web and light up spiders in the front yard.

Our neighborhood had a party at the clubhouse early in the afternoon.

A DJ announced each child as they showed off their costumes.
After the party, we headed over to eat dinner and trick or treat with Nonnie and Pops.  The houses in their neighborhood are closer together for little legs and were decked out this year.

The girls really got into posing for me.  It was fun!
Our first stop was Big Bubba's and Mary's.
We saw lots of old friends in their neighborhood.
 Caroline and Nonnie, the Witch
Abby and Pops, the Skeleton

The girls filled their pumpkins in no time and Nonnie topped them off.
We were finished early and had plenty of time to get home, see some neighbors and hand out our own candy.  We actually ran out!  The girls got so excited and screamed every time the doorbell rang.  It was a fun night with Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother!

October Snapshots

October in a nutshell was the Fall Carnival at Chapel Hill, . . .

  . . . The First Grade Pumpkin Spin Day, . . .

(The classes rotated to different classrooms for lessons.  I worked at the station in Abby's classroom.)

. . .and stopping at a pumpkin patch one afternoon.

Who doesn't enjoy a hayride on a pleasant October afternoon?
October also brought Abby's book parade!
We had to get to the school early in the pouring down rain for the parade.  Caroline had breakfast in the car while we waited for the rain to let up.
This cat made herself comfortable while waiting for the parade.

Abby wanted to be Dorothy for the parade so she could wear high heels to school.

 We love Mrs. Whitfill!

 Time to Carve a Pumpkin

We finally had some nice weather for a walk and bike ride!
We all enjoyed Southlake's Oktoberfest one Sunday afternoon.

 The girls got some bracelets.
Nonnie and Pops had some Halloween goodies one October day!

Fringe Boots and Costumes for the Dolls
The girls were also excited to find Halloween money in the mail from GiGi and PawPaw.  They couldn't let it burn a hole in their pocket, so we headed straight to Target.
Abby lost her front top tooth in October!  I subbed that day and Nonnie took her to jazz.  It happened as they were walking in to the studio. Abby and Nonnie kept it a secret all through dance and she walked out at the end, surprising me with her big gap!
Dance Friends
The girls were ecstatic to get their costumes for their Nutcracker performance.
They got to dress up for every dance class Halloween week.   I am here to tell you that was a lot of dressing up! Together, they attend five classes and Nutcracker practice each week. They wore a different costume to every class!  It was a good thing our dress up box was full.

October would not have been complete without snuggling up to watch "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," and  . . . .
. .  . some parties.  Abby had a few birthday parties.

Caroline had a good-bye party for a dear little friend, Amelia.  She is moving to D.C. in two weeks.  This will be heartbreaking for Caroline as they have been in the same class for three years.
Their teacher from last year dropped by to say hello.

One of Abby's classmates hosted a spooky Halloween party at his "haunted mansion."

As you can see, October was jam packed!  Halloween night will be on the next post and we have already hit the ground running in November!
