The Graduate

We have a preschool graduate!  Abby had her graduation this past Tuesday.  It was a really sweet ceremony.  The teacher said a little something about each child.  When Abby took the stage, Ms. Connie said, "Abby's favorite food is spaghetti from the blue box.  She is very specific about the brand.  Her favorite activity is coloring and her favorite toy is her American Girl Doll.  When she grows up she wants to be a mommy."  As you can imagine, the floodgates opened and the waterworks were on for the rest of our final week of preschool.  What a milestone!

Cheers to Ten Years!

We have a busy June coming up, so Brent and I decided to celebrate our ten year anniversary a few weeks early.  Also, I wanted to go to the Dave Matthews Band concert.
Some friends met us for dinner and the concert in Dallas and then we stayed at The Melrose.  I love going back to the place where we had our reception.  It is so special to us and stays the same year after year.  Someone was having a reception there that night and the hotel receptionist let me go in and take a peek.
While we were away, the girls had a big afternoon at the horse races and then had a sleepover with Nonnie, Pops, Little Bubba and Momo.

Proud Caroline

The weekend of Caroline's birthday party, she played in her final blast ball game of the season.  Later in the week, we had a celebration at an ice cream place and she got her trophy.  She was very proud!

Mother's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's Day!  The girls surprised me with artwork.  Abby told Nonnie in secret one day about her master plan to put magnets on the back of a picture so we could hang them on the fridge.  They worked on them at her house during several visits and she had them laminated.  They were so excited to give me their masterpieces and I just loved their artwork. Brent cooked a pancake breakfast for GiGi and me and then Pops, Little Bubba and Brent cooked out for Nonnie, Momo and me that evening.  It was a nice day!

A Royal Ball

Weekend before last, we celebrated Caroline's birthday with a princess tea party.  The girls had fun posing before the royal guests arrived.

Caroline was most excited about Ariel's Grotto (also known as the dining room).

Inspecting the Sweets

Our castle had quite a staff!
The Princess Greeting Her First Guests

The girls painted seashells as they arrived.

After some painting, it was time for tea.
I gave the girls a little lesson on Princess etiquette before the staff served their tea and refreshments.
Caroline made sure her napkin was in her lap.

The girls thought it was a lot of fun to drop in sugar cubes!

 Making a Wish
Ariel and Cinderella arrived at the end of our tea time.

Ariel and Cinderella led the girls on a treasure hunt, danced and did makeovers for the remainder of the party.

 The Treasure Hunt

After our guests departed, Caroline and Abby had a little private time with the princesses.  Caroline was showing Cinderella all of Ariel's human treasures in the pic below.

We had pizza and opened presents with the family for the after party.  Caroline and Abby got new bikes from Brent and me.

Caroline was thrilled to get this Unicorn stick horse she had been wishing for from Little Bubba.
Nonnie, Pops, GiGi and PawPaw gave both girls their first American Girl Dolls.  These dolls are already well loved!

Abby couldn't wait to give Caroline her homemade card and Sophia tea party game she picked out.
Caroline was so sweet hugging each person after she opened their present.   It was a fun day fit for a princess!
