Christmas Cookies

We made gingerbread cookies last week.  Yum!

Daddy got in on the action.  That was a good thing.  This activity was a little harder to supervise than I thought it would be.
Abby had to roll the dough, so . . .

. . .Caroline got a turn rolling the dough .  I forgot we had a little rolling pin, which would have worked a lot better.  I'm sure this little baker will remind me to get it out the next time we bake.  She never forgets anything!

Not too Sick to Party

This morning, Abby and I went to her Christmas party at school.
She had fun passing out gifts to her friends.  She picked out bracelets for the girls and watches for the boys.
 Sweet Friends
The kids sang Jingle Bells for us before they ate.

After the snack, they made a Christmas tree.  Abby came home with me, as she is showing signs of a cold.  I don't think she had the greatest time at her party, but she hung in there. We are hoping it passes quickly before Christmas.

Long Lost Pictures

Brent's Aunt Lin and Uncle Gary came over this past Sunday night for dinner.  We helped Gary celebrate his birthday.  I wanted to post these pics, but couldn't find them on my camera chip.  They had mysteriously disappeared.  Then, today, I saw them in the middle of all our Bass Pro pictures.  Glad I found them.  I thought I was going crazy!
 Happy Birthday, Gary!
Lin is a Play Doh pal.  Abby likes to get down to business with her play doh when she is here.

Abby and Caroline like to show visitors their trees.
While in the bedroom, they had to show Lin and Gary how to play bus.  They pretend the bed is a bus and sing Wheels on the Bus.

If at first you don't succeed . . .

. .try, try again.  It took three tries for us to get a picture with Santa this year.  These are pictures from our first attempt at Bass Pro.  We went to there one weekend when Brent was hunting, back in November.
Upon arrival, we found out it would be a two hour wait to see Santa.  It was a no brainer that the picture was not going to happen this trip. We took a spin on the carousel, looked at some of the trains and headed home for an Aggie game.

The girls got as close as they could to Santa and enjoyed watching him for a while.
You remember our 2nd attempt, when we found out Friday is the weekend now.  The girls did get a wave before Santa left to feed his reindeer.

Finally, Nonnie and I headed back to Bass Pro on a Monday morning.  Success at last!  I don't have a pic with Santa for the blog.  We just bought a package from the professional elf photographer.  The girls didn't cry, but had arms reaching for Mommy and looks of fright.  I was satisfied we had a pic with Santa for our album.
They had fun playing on this boat with Frosty.

I took this picture for Brent.

The girls ate their first giant pretzel.
The trip concluded with another spin on the carousel.

Hats Off to Caroline!

If Caroline is at Nonnie's and Pop's house, she will have a hat on her little head.  She loves hats and is always in the hat basket.
 Today, Caroline was Frosty.

 Check out this hair!
The fireman hat is her favorite.

She woke up one day and decided to join the army.

Breakfast with Santa

Santa is making the rounds and came to Abby's school this past Saturday.  GiGi and PawPaw were also visiting and joined us for Chapel Hill's annual pancake breakfast with Santa.  Abby made sure her tights were lint free before we headed to the big event.

Both girls gobbled up all the pancakes on their plate,

Abby likes Santa and any type of character as long as they keep their distance.  Watch out, Frosty! You are entering her "personal space."
 Oh, come on, girls!
These little people can be found somewhere on the grounds of the church at every event.  The girls really get a kick out of blow-ups.
No sitting on Santa's lap this time.  Abby immediately requested a "family picture."
 Craft Time

 Abby shows off her ornament.

We also made cookies and got a little carried away with the sprinkles.

Delicious!  Even though, we didn't get a great picture with Santa, fun was had by all!
