"We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo . . "

My kids love the song "We're Going to the Zoo" and they love actually taking a trip to it.  Little Bubba's company has really spoiled us this month between a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge and a day at the Fort Worth Zoo.

 We saw everything!
Our tour guide kept us on track.
Abby was so serious about her map.  She would jump out and look at an animal and then declare, "I'm ready to get back in my stroller and look at where we are going next."

Caroline was a bit more relaxed.
 Gorillas and  . . .
. . this chocolate cake were Caroline's favorites this trip.  Little Bubba's company had a catered lunch and animal show in a pavillion.  It was fun to meet his coworkers.

 Time for a train ride.
The girls were so grown up and proud to not sit on our laps.
The otters were my favorite.  I love all their flips and speedy swimming.
Caroline wanted to get as close as she could.  I think she achieved her goal.
In depth discussion going on here:
Trying to get that paci away for a pic.  I don't think she was happy about it.

Parade of Champions

Last Sunday, after Abby's program, we went to Southlake's Parade of Champions at the Square.
Watching and Waiting
It was the perfect day for a parade.

 Yeah, Dragons!

Bravo, Abby!

Wow! Brent and I couldn't believe we have a child old enough to be in a program.  We were definitely beaming yesterday, as we watched Abby's preschool program.  She woke up yesterday asking if it was time to put on her "special dress."  By the time 3:00 rolled around, she was more than ready to perform.
Waiting with her friends to make a grand entrance.
Little Sis waiting for the show to start
Here they come.  Check out proud Daddy in the front row with the video camera.
The two year old classes sang two songs in the chapel.  You would have thought by the applause and the tears in some of our eyes, we were at a broadway show.  Nothing sweeter than children singing!
Some clips of the performance:

Sweet Singing

The girls had a little sing song time on the porch of the Chapel.  It is hard to hear Caroline, but she sings every word.  This is a little clip of their concert.

The Great Wolf Lodge

Little Bubba's company hosted a huge conference at the Gaylord this week and he scored us some free passes to the Great Wolf Lodge.  It was a blast. Nonnie, the girls, and I met him at the waterpark on Wednesday afternoon. We played for a couple of hours and then ate a picnic in his hotel room.  Thanks, Little Bubba!
After a few minutes of playing, Nonnie and I decided we felt more comfortable with the girls in lifejackets.   They didn't mind wearing them and thought it was fun to float around.

 The Wave Pool

Abby and Caroline waited and watched with Nonnie, while Mommy and Little Bubba went on a big slide.  I had so much fun on that slide.  I felt like a kid again and screamed the whole way.

 Giant Lily Pads
 Swimming in their Lifejackets
Caroline loved this big beaver.  She would say, "I like it! Big Beaber!"
They were worn out at the end of the visit.

Easter

It was quite a weekend with our move and Easter, but we finished up the moving Saturday night and spent the night with Nonnie and Pops.  We woke up to find the Easter Bunny had visited.  We were relieved to find he was smart and hid our eggs inside since it was cool and rain was headed our way.

Caroline stopped to open each egg she found.  Not Abby, she wanted to find as many as she could.  They were all over the house.

 Counting her Eggs
The Easter Bunny filled some of the eggs with stamps and stickers.

After breakfast, which consisted of Twix, we headed off to church.
We got to ride on the golf carts from the parking lot.  The girls always like that.

We took the girls in to "big church" again this week.  They stayed quiet for most of the service and then Pops and I took them outside.
I got some fun pictures by the fountain and in the garden while we waited on the rest of our crew.

This is Abby's face she makes now when you ask her to smile.  Wow!
