October in a Nutshell

As you will see from this long post, we have kept with tradition and October remains one of our busiest months of the year.  We've had a fun month with these little witches running around.
Nonnie has these little hats at her house and the girls have started putting them on right when they walk in the door.  It is funny to watch them play around in them.
She had to get another grocery cart for her house.  The girls battled over the one, with Abby usually coming out the winner.
Abby talks to Wicky the Witch.  She has quite the imagination and enjoys pretend play.
A few weekends ago, we took part in our neghborhood garage sale.  I finally parted with my beloved tiger chair.  It was the first thing I bought when I got my apartment after college.  Brent had repaired it many times and we didn't have a good spot for it anymore.  I wasn't crazy about the lady that bought it, but I got this last picture of it and let it go.
After the sale, the girls took some of the money they earned from selling some baby toys and bought a new doll stoller and 2 new tiny dolls.
Of course, we had to browse on the Disney aisle and GiGi got Christmas and birthday ideas.
The girls test drove a Barbie jeep.  It is on their wish list for Santa.
GiGi and PawPaw were here for the weekend and did a fantastic job entertaining while we ran the garage sale.
"Swing me, swing me!"

Two weekends ago, we did our first fundraiser walk for NAMI(National Association for Mental Illness).  It was in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.

Caroline had the best time playing in these rocks while Nonnie got our team registered.
 It was a gorgeous day!
This past weekend, Brent and I took the girls to a TCU tailgate.  Some of his grad school friends had a mini reunion.  We figured the girls were too young for the game, but we had a fun time seeing old friends before the game.
We parked at the Roberts' house and walked to the tailgate.  They have a 7 year old daughter who loved entertaining our girls.  It was nice.
Abby loved the extra attention from the older kids.  In this pic, they are feeding her nacho chips.
 Playing with the beanbags.

 Abby entertains her audience.
 Brent and his buddies.
 Caroline takes a turn entertaining.
 Serious Kid Conversation
Caroline sat in our wagon forever and took everything in and out of our bag.
Abby tells Travis about her acorns.  She is obsessed with them and hunts for them everywhere we go.  She likes green ones "without hats."
Saturday night we celebrated Little Bubba's birthday.  I can't believe my little brother is 30!!!

 Helping with Presents
Our weekend ended with Pumpkim Fest at Abby's school.  Daddy carves our pumpkin.
 Pic with the Scarecrow
Our finished product-The sun is in Abby's eyes.  Whoops.
Big smiles looking at the animals-Abby liked looking at the animals but opted not to pet them.
 Bounce House Fun
Nonnie brought Caroline after we finished our pumpkin.
Eating a snack-Abby points to the green M&M she wants off her cookie.
She licked that cookie until she got the green M&M out.
Little Miss Caroline and Daddy head to the petting zoo.

She was not afraid of the animals one bit and we were glad she had no allergic reaction.
This baby goat nibbled on her tutu.

Hall's Pumpkin Patch

With our calendar filling up and all the talk of a pumpkin shortage, I thought we would hit the pumpkin patch early this year.  Nonnie and I took the girls Wednesday and it was really nice and much less crowded.  The girls had a ball running around.

Farmer Abby drives her tractor.
Caroline also managed to sit on one for a minute.
 And they're off!

"Hmm . .which pumpkin is small enough for me to pick up?"
 Up, up, up . . .
  . . whee!
 Wagon Ride

Big Sis used all her might to pull Caroline.
Of course, Caroline has to give it a try.

 Playing in the haystack house
 Picking out the Perfect Pumpkin
Abby would pick up a pumpkin and then just throw it down, saying, "This is heavy!"
Nonnie had to push the tractor the second time around.

We gave this pumpkin patch an A+!    We ended up bringing home a big pumpkin and both girls picked out a baby pumpkin.
