Last year, we had a super time at Southlake's Oktoberfest, so we thought we'd go again. Wow! I don't know what happened, but sometime between last year and this year, someone decided to make it a very serious event. The weiner dog parade and races were delayed 45 minutes. This is what is so hysterical to see. Needless to say, we did not make it to the races with two toddlers waiting in their little red wagon.
The girls check out a fire weiner dog in his firetruck.
The girls pose with Horned Frog weiner dogs.We got there a little early to get a front row spot.
The girls were restless, so after a very official weiner dog judge announced there would be a delay, Brent and I took the girls to walk around and look at booths. Momo and Nonnie saved our spot. Pops was out of town for work and missed all the weiner dog drama.
I know, I know, we still have pacifiers! I considered myself very lucky when Abby woke up one day this summer and decided she was potty trained, but I have had no such luck with giving up the precious paci. We'll work on it. I will say the paci is a lifesaver sometimes.
A Little Witch with her Purse
Caroline-"This way Mommy. Keep up."
These little Anderson girls were all over the place!
Sad attempt at a family pic. As you can see, it lacks a mom and check out Abby's hat. Too funny!
More weiner dogs!
Momo helps Abby get settled.
Back in the wagon. More waiting and snacktime.
The situation became comical when this serious group of men stood in a circle on the racetrack discussing something for about 15 minutes.
Abby clapped for the first four dogs that come by in the parade. Then, both girls started to melt down and it was warming up outside, so we headed for the house and the Aggie game. Maybe we will catch you next year, weinerdogs. On second thought, maybe not.
