Babysitting 101

Cousin Carter, Aunt Haley and Uncle Phil came to visit this past weekend.  We had a great time swimming, cooking out, playing and the girls were especially excited to babysit Carter while Haley and Phil went to a movie.
They had all the toys out in no time.  The day before Carter came, we cleared out the big living area and got out toys we thought he'd enjoy.
Presents From Disneyland
He liked his Mickey!
The girls really wanted him to crawl through their tunnel and he did, many times!

Caroline and Carter played store.
Caroline was thrilled to get another birthday present.
This band could make some noise.

We went on a walk to the park when Haley and Phil left for the movie.  I wanted to distract Carter and make sure he didn't cry.  It worked!  That kid didn't fuss one time.

More Tunnel Time

Nonnie found the boat the girls loved when they were little.  Abby and Caroline really wanted him to like it.  I was relieved when he did.

Pictures before they left and we went to church.  It was a great time!

Meet Olivia!

She is our paper mache octopus and current centerpiece for the kitchen table.  She was inspired by some fun placemats at Target and my fond memories of doing paper mache projects as a Brownie.
Abby and Caroline were interested for a short while and then decided it was too messy.  Nonnie and I finished the "yucky" portion of the project.
They just couldn't get over sticking their hands in the paste.

Check out Abby's look of disgust in this one.
They did enjoy painting and naming our octopus.

East Texas Weekend

Two weekends ago, we went to East Texas for the Hart Family Reunion and Grandmother's 90th birthday.  That's right, 90!  Friday night, we spent the night at Aunt MaryAnn's and then headed to Pittsburg Saturday for the reunion and birthday party.  We stopped on the way to pick berries at a Farmer's Market.

The girls did some painting while we set up the fellowship hall.
Cousin Pic- We missed you, Kellie and James!  I also just realized we didn't get all the little second cousins in this pic.  The larger the family gets, the harder it is to get pictures with everyone in the same shot!
I made a scavenger hunt for the little second cousins to go on during the family reunion.  The great aunts and uncles enjoyed having them come around to the tables.
They had to find items that might be in purses or pockets.

Camden hit the jackpot when he scored a coupon.

Abby was very serious checking off her list.  I think everyone had fun and I was glad to get a picture of most relatives.
