These Boots Are Made For Walking

We spent the last weekend of our Spring Break trip at GiGi and PawPaw's and went to the Houston Rodeo. These little cowgirls had a big time!
Caroline is ready to rodeo! Nonnie and Pops went to western stores all over the metroplex to get these matching outfits in the right sizes. They were all decked out.We saw Aunt Haley at the food pavilion.
The girls were all smiles as we made our way to the entrance. It was a long walk.Abby wanted to walk so she had to wear her Elmo harness because it was so crowded.

It is getting harder and harder to get these girls to look at the camera at the same time.

Abby peeps over the fence to get a look at the sheep.

Caroline's eyes got very red and swollen after looking at the animals for about ten minutes. We rushed out of there and they got better after awhile. She is allergic to something. Maybe the cows???
So, while Caroline took a nap in the shade with GiGi and PawPaw, Brent and I took Abby to a Day on the Farm.It was a cute, educational walk through of a day on the farm. I was proud A&M sponsored it. Abby fed chickens in the hen house and collected an egg.
She gathered corn, planted a carrot seed, picked peaches on an orchard,
and watched Daddy milk a cow. She was too scared. After checking out the livestock show and displays, Gi Gi and PawPaw took the girls home and Brent and I met up with Ruth and Tommy to see the rodeo and Brad Paisley. It was a fun night! I was spoiled this month getting to see Ruth twice. Two weeks ago GiGi and PawPaw came to Trophy Club and babysat overnight. I took a roadtrip to have a girl's night in Austin. Thanks GiGi and PawPaw!

Who knew . . .

. . .the little town of Bay City would have such an excellent children's museum? We decided to check out the museum one day for an activity and it was awesome! The girls had so much fun. It was a little pioneer town for the kids to do role play.Abby ran around the grocery store picking out food. She really got into pretending in all the different places.

There was a toy store. We all came in and bought a toy from her.
She was a serious clerk. Caroline played doll with Momo while Abby ran around the town.

She got to ride a big rocking horse. Giddy-up!

Abby ran the post office and mailed a letter.

Pumping water was hard work!

This was the funniest part of our museum outing. There was a little opera house. Abby ran in, sat down and said "Where's Elmo?"
After I explained it was a stage for her to perform on, she got up and danced for us over and over again.

Beach Bums

Nonnie, Momo and I took the girls to the beach one day. We picked up our favorite crabcake sandwiches and had a picnic. We didn't last more than an hour without our tarp, but the girls enjoyed it. I hope they grow to love the beach as much as the rest of our family does. Nonnie and Abby went down by the water. She was excited to get her feet wet.
Caroline has lunch.
Abby gathered seashells to take to her teachers at school.

Abby liked playing in the sand more than I thought she would.
Abby and I took a walk down the pier.

A Wee Bit of Irish Fun

Momo had a sip n see for Caroline. She made it a St. Patrick's Day themed party. We had fun showing off Caroline to her friends. Unfortunately, we remembered to get a picture of the entire group after some of the ladies left.

Momo, thank you for making it a special celebration for Caroline!

Edna Lou had the magic touch. She got Caroline right to sleep. Holly and Caroline hit it off.

Abby loves to walk around in grown up shoes now. She is such a little lady.

Momo and Gertrude talk baby talk to Caroline.

Abby had some friends at the party. Chance and Elise hid eggs for her. She had a ball with them. If they lived near us, I would pay them to come entertain her regularly.

She hid her eyes and counted while they hid the eggs.

Star of the Party

Abby handed all the ladies a cocktail napkin. Abby chows down on quiche.
Cheers to Caroline! We had Irish Mist Champagne and Irish Coffee. Yum!

Holly always brings the girls bags of fun goodies. Abby got her Cookie Monster balloon and sunglasses and was ready to party.

Another Eggroll, Please!

Nonnie had her hands full at the Chinese buffet. It was a hit with Abby. She ate more than she ever has at one sitting. She kept saying, "Another eggroll, please."
Fun with a Spoon
I think she ate three eggrolls and sampled many other things, topping the meal off with mint icecream. Green is her favorite color right now so this was a big deal.Caroline also had fun trying out some new big kid food. Yeah! So far, canned carrots, crackers and stars are her favorites.
Momo and Abby discuss what else she might be able to fit on her plate.Give Caroline a sippy cup and she is a happy camper.
