A Weekend in Georgia

Nonnie flew us to Georgia to visit Little Bubba in June.  He just bought a town home in Suwanee, outside of Atlanta.  It is in a town square and upon arrival we got busy exploring.
Abby and Caroline enjoyed cold treats and picking out some new toys for Callie at a fancy dog boutique.
Saturday morning we checked out the Farmer's Market around the square.
We bought everything we needed to grill out dinner.  Caroline bought some of her favorite potatoes.

Abby tasted homemade bread, but ended up with a delicious chocolate pie.

Caroline was eager to taste a Georgia peach.

Little Bubba still had access to his apartment pool as his lease ended a few weeks later.

That afternoon, we headed to Stone Mountain.  Although hot, we had a great time.  Caroline was especially interested in the glass blowing.

Their favorite thing at the park was the geyser.

They also liked the obstacle course.

We went on a 45 minute train ride around the mountain.  It was really neat!

The 4D Yogi Bear film was a good cool down.
Sunday, we went to the Atlanta aquarium.  We spent the day there seeing all of the exhibits and two shows.

There were tunnels you could crawl through and then stand up next to live penguins.

That evening, the girls had fun setting up their hammocks Little Bubba got them on the square.

After doing their math practice, they cooled down in the sprinkler pad.  It was a nice weekend and fun to see Little Bubba's place.

Ride with Pride

Caroline has been begging to take horse riding lessons for about a year and finally got her big chance in June.  She took six lessons at a local place, Ride with Pride.  The lessons were at 7:30 am and were an hour and fifteen minutes.  I was a bit concerned she would not want to get going that early, but she proved me wrong.  She was up and at 'em each day ready to see her horse.

She rode Sonny most days.  He could be a stinker.
Abby went to a couple of lessons and watched.  She has decided she wants to try it in the fall.

Before each lesson, they worked in the stable and got the horses ready to ride.  She learned a lot!

The last day Caroline rode Red (in the pic below).  It was amazing to see how she learned to maneuver the horse.  She loved every minute of this new experience and both girls are excited to take more lessons in the fall!

Go Barracudas!

We just wrapped up our third season on the neighborhood swim team.  It was another great year swimming with the Barracudas!  The girls swam the backstroke and freestyle races in the four meets.

I didn't take many pics of the actual races, as I was a ready bench runner for the swimmers.  The girls liked having me on the floor with them waiting until right before their race.

We had practice four days a week.  We missed a few due to conflicts with other activities, but made it to most.  Abby and Caroline loved Thursdays because they handed out popsicles and ribbons from the meet the day before.
One Friday, the ice cream truck came to practice.  Everyone got a free treat.
I think one of their favorite things about the meets is getting a treat at the concession stand.

The season ended this past Friday evening with a big swim party at a rec center.

The pic below is Caroline at the bottom of a slide.

They loved Coach Allie and had fun with her in the lazy river.  Abby asked if she would have some races with them.

The night ended with pizza, Rita's and awards.  It was a fun time and we are so proud of our little swimmers!
