A Texas-size Birthday

The first weekend of Spring Break, we went to Spring to celebrate PawPaw's birthday and also took a trip to the Houston Stock Show.

"These boots are made for walkin'."  Abby was proud to push Carter in her stroller.

I think we did just about everything the Stock Show had to offer.

PawPaw gave Caroline and Abby some money to spend.  They both picked out a mermaid.  That's right! Mermaids were on sale at the Stock Show!
They were wiped out by the end of our Stock Show adventure.
After naps, the kids were ready to party!

Our visit was packed full of fun!  Abby squeezed in quite a few games with Gary and both girls gave Carter a lesson on Dot Art.

Spring Break Kick Off

Last Thursday, Abby and Caroline jumped up and got dressed for yellow day at school!  They were excited about their new yellow duds.
Right after school, we kicked off spring break with haircuts.  It was their first time to get their hair cut at "a real place."
While Nonnie has done an excellent job trimming hair and saved us a lot of money, we were ready for a professional cut.  Abby and Caroline were very excited.
Stickers were at the bottom of the taxi, which really helped Caroline to keep her head down.

Next, we went to Aunt Mary's to help her celebrate her birthday. It was a very busy, but fun afternoon!

Friday Get Away

The week before last, the girls and I went with Nonnie and Pops to see Grandmother one day while Brent was out of town for work.  Abby had fun playing One Potato Two Potato with her.

My Uncle Norman was really sweet and left the girls a table with art supplies and stickers.
We hit the local pizza buffet for lunch.

The girls practiced their archery and piano skills.

Pops played them a little song he knew.

After a few games of Chicken Foot, our visit was complete!

Happy Birthday, GiGi!

We went to Spring last weekend to help GiGi celebrate her birthday.  We got there Thursday night and hit the ground running Friday morning!  Abby and Caroline were off to the park and didn't stop going until bed time.

"Yee-haw!"

Abby found a new game, tic-tac-toe.  We played at least 20 times each trip to the park.

GiGi and PawPaw had new kites for Abby and Caroline.  We were lucky to have wind on Friday and got them flying.

PawPaw and Abby really stuck with it!

Caroline found a nice patch of clover and filled up my camera case with "lovely flowers."

One of their Valentine surprises from GiGi and PawPaw was a carriage bubble machine.

They built a playhouse in the entry way.

We also found GiGi's childhood blocks and Golden Books.

Abby got her wish and played many games of checkers and Connect Four with PawPaw.

They planted some flower seeds in GiGi's backyard and, to our surprise, they sprouted an hour later.

It must have been all the watering!

Saturday morning, an entertainer arrived and his name was Carter.

Abby gave him a lesson on how to spin in this chair and play music with plastic tools and a gate.

They couldn't wait to give Carter a Pluto for Valentine's.

Carter and Aunt Haley brought them some treats, too.

"High Five, Uncle Brent!"

I think Aunt Haley was outnumbered in this game of chase.

GiGi's Birthday Dinner

We had a fun, relaxing weekend.  Abby and Caroline were exhausted after so much play!
