They found every white article of clothing they own and dressed as cats. Then, they made a piano out of every Kleenex in the box and their bathroom stools and pretended to be the Aristocats.
We really enjoyed VBS at our church a few weeks ago. In the pic below, Caroline was modeling the shirt the night before it started. I taught the preschool music so it was fun to have Caroline for a bit every day. I also got to see Abby in her group as I helped lead music first thing in the sanctuary.
Summer days also mean doing fun things around the house like hatching a dinosaur egg and . . .
. . .watching a potato sprout, . . .
. . . and finding a frog in the outdoor play kitchen!
Letting the Frog Free
The girls are always pretending to be different characters we read about or see in movies. We have been reading The Little House series for about a year now and they love to be Laura and Mary. GiGi is giving the girls each book and we are on the third one. I enjoy reading them also. It is a nice break from princess stories. Caroline wanted braids this day so she could be Laura and help me, Ma, with the chores.
Abby joined in on the fun.
Pops told some people at work about their love of Little House and one of them brought some bonnets for them.We continue to enjoy Abby's swim team and have made lots of new friends through it. Last week, the ice cream truck came and everyone got a free treat.
A leak in the house, meant lots of shopping for floors. The girls have been amazing as we've carted them around.
Caroline couldn't stay awake this time!
Summer always means good programs at our library. Nonnie took them to an Alice in Wonderland play one day.
Yesterday, I took them to a Hansel and Gretel marionette show.
As you can see, the dolls went with us.
This past weekend, Abby went to a luau birthday party.
A hula dancer came and taught the girls some moves.Brent and Caroline had a big day on the town. They ate yogurt, played at a toy store and went shopping. She picked out new Frozen Tervis tumblers.
Abby shared some of her party favors and we got out our grass skirts.
We also went to Little Bubba's this weekend to escape the fan noise. Abby put him right to work on a Rubik's cube.
We enjoyed his neighborhood pool, lazy river and sprinkler pad.
They had fun playing at Bubba's work again.
We made a run to Ikea. Now you see them.
Now you don't!
Fun at the Disney StoreWe checked out the little waterpark at Bubba's rec center.
Stops at Bucee's are a must on all our road trips in the summer. We are really excited about our next summer adventure, a trip to Seabrook for July 4th!
