October Fun

We kicked off October by making orange play doh for Caroline's class and  . . .
. . . working on the "Green Team" at Abby's school.  Every Thursday, a parent volunteers to take three students out of a kindergarten class to collect the recycle bins from every classroom.  Abby loved it!

Caroline brought home a pet alligator one day!
We kept it in a tub of water and watched it grow.  Of course, she gave her pet some tea.
It stayed very warm through October, but one pleasant afternoon we went up to the school parking lot for bike rides.  They enjoyed the smooth pavement and open space.

Last weekend, Brent and I enjoyed dinner at Del Frisco Grille while the girls were on their own date with Nonnie and Pops.  They took their dolls to Café Express and for yogurt.
I snapped these pics as we drove away after passing them off.

They saw this old fun car and posed for some pics.
Last Saturday, Nonnie and I took Abby and Caroline to see the play Aristocats at a local theater where kids perform.
 Officer Frank was there!
The girls love this movie and especially love the kitten, Marie.

The weather finally cooled down so our ants could be mailed!
We've had a great time watching them build their tunnels.

A couple of Wednesdays ago, Pops took off work and took Abby lunch.
Since Pops was in Southlake, Nonnie went to Museum School with us.  I like to have someone on that side of town in case Abby has an emergency at school.  Nonnie hadn't been to Fort Worth this year because she is my Southlake person on Wednesdays.  We had a fun time shopping!
After museum, Pops and Caroline had a big wedding with the Barbies.
This past week, we carved and decorated pumpkins.

Abby had a blast with Red Ribbon Week at school.  Every day they wore something different.  Wednesday was boot day.
Two Rapunzels went to church choir this week.  Caroline wanted to save her Tink costume for Halloween.
Caroline's school had a fundraiser at a yogurt place this week.
The office staff worked behind the counter.
The girls had fun seeing old and new teachers.
Caroline had fun playing Halloween games at soccer all month.  In the pic below, they are witches.  They were so cute running around with cones on their heads.
Halloween was the last class of the fall season.  Caroline wore a fairy costume and Brent came to participate.  It was parent day and I was subbing.  She had a ball with him and Nonnie took pics for us.

She loved this class so much, we signed up for another session.
I subbed Halloween afternoon and Abby had fun after school in my room going through goodie bags she got from friends.

Brent and I ran to Fort Worth for a Bone Marrow Drive Saturday afternoon and Nonnie and Pops took the girls for Central Market ice cream.
It was a busy day!  We watched the Aggies with friends down the street in the morning, ran to Fort Worth and then Caroline had a birthday party to attend.  Stay tuned for Halloween pictures!  They needed their own post.
