Universal Studios Orlando

Nonnie and Pops kicked off our summer with a trip to Universal Studios!  It was our first time to visit the Universal parks and we had a blast!
They got a suite with a Minion bedroom for the girls.

We stayed at Portofino Bay and rode the boat to the parks.

 New York City

We wasted no time and jumped on the Hogwarts Express.
We rode it to Hogsmeade and had our first taste of Butterbeer.

Next, we did some shopping in Honeydukes and  . . .

. . . picked out our magic wands!  The Harry Potter sections of the parks were so realistic.  We were all amazed and Caroline was especially in her element.

 Caroline had to have Hedwig!
The next day we started off in Diagon Alley.
We gave Gringotts Wizarding Bank ride a thumbs up!

 Dr. Seuss Land

The girls still love to hop on all these rides on their own.  Abby says they are "very relaxing."

Spotting the Mystery Machine was exciting for Abby after all her years of watching Scooby Doo!

We took lots of pics in Springfield for Little Bubba.  He loves the Simpsons!

Our hotel pool was relaxing and the girls loved the slide.

.

We spent one day at Volcano Bay.
We all loved some down time in our cabana.

We got lucky and only had one day with some rain. We enjoyed the cloud cover.
 Check out the rainbow!

We spent quite a bit of time in the Harry Potter sections casting spells with our wands.  Abby is making a toilet spin in this pic.

Caroline got this pot to tip over and a little goblin spit out water.
The Hogwarts ride was Caroline's favorite!

Caroline had a nice chat with Stan, the Night Bus conductor.

The girls put in a call to the Ministry of Magic.

Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe

The Hello Kitty hugs were for me.  I loved her when I was a kid.

 Lunch at The Chocolate Emporium

The shakes were massive and delicious!

It was a fun trip and a great way to start our summer!  We were delayed on the tarmac after landing at DFW.  Due to storms, the gates were backed up.  The girls were troopers and, although it was a long ordeal, we were excited to receive vouchers for free flights we can use for a spring break trip.
