Bay City, Bowling and a Bounce House

September weekends were filled with a trip to Bay City, our first bowling experience and bounce house fun!  We also went on our first campout, but that adventure will have its own post.
One of our favorite things to do at the beach is eat fried chicken!

We busted out the boogie boards this time.

Big Bubba's family was there and he got into some serious sand castle building with Abby.
He also tried to bury her, but it didn't go further than her sitting in the hole.
Sitting in the Surf with Pops
A trench was built to fill up the moat.

We also visited the children's museum in Bay City.  It is set up like a little town.
We had it all to ourselves!

They love to dance around on this stage.

Little Bubba entertained the girls with some computer games.  Remember Zelda?
The next weekend, we had big fun while Daddy was on his hunting trip.  Saturday, Pops got us tickets to the Plano Hot Air Balloon Festival but, after sitting in traffic for a good while, we decided to turn in to a Main Event and give bowling a whirl.  That turned out to be a great decision, because later we heard the balloons didn't go up due to wind.

As you can see, it was a hit!  Abby is blurry in all of my pics because she was jumping up and down with excitement every time she rolled the ball.
Both girls used this metal contraption most of the time.  I hadn't been bowling in so long, I didn't know it existed.
After each sister would take a turn, they would stand and watch the ball until it reached the pins.
Tollie stayed with us that weekend.  The girls love having her around!

Sunday, Nonnie and Pops got a bounce house and they each invited a new friend from school to come jump.

Little Bubba got in on some of the jumping action.

Dallas World Aquarium

Two weekends ago, Brent and I took the girls to the Dallas World Aquarium.  We hadn't been since Caroline was one.  It was a fun morning!

Caroline fed this bird a blueberry.  Abby decided to pass.
Daddy got this pic from the other side of the tank.

Bats Galore
We saw Flotsam from The Little Mermaid.
Caroline gave this huge crab a high five!
 Penguins
We sat and watched this gigantic manatee for a while.
The girls said their favorite part of the day was the "dance show."  Here is a clip of Caroline following along.
 A Picture with the Dancers
We ate at Spaghetti Warehouse for lunch.  Girl Scouts were taking up the trolley, but they cleared out after we ate.  The girls were excited to walk through it.

"Dinosaur School"

Last week, the girls started Museum School in Fort Worth.  Caroline was so excited to go to "dinosaur school" after watching Abby go last year.

Caroline has Abby's teachers from last year.  She was excited to show her around her old classroom.

Caroline was so proud of her first homework assignment!

Big Bubba's Birthday

Labor Day evening, we helped Big Bubba celebrate his birthday!  The girls wore their party costumes.

A Night on the Town

GiGi and PawPaw came to keep the girls overnight while we were at Whitney's wedding.  The girls had a big night out on the town!  They ate at their favorite place, Kincaid's.  Aunt Lin and Uncle Gary joined them for dinner and then they went for ice cream.

It was no surprise that they came home with some loot after their shopping trip.

They got a little sidetracked styling PawPaw's hair during story time.  I don't think they missed us while we were away!  Thanks for babysitting GiGi and PawPaw!

Wedding Bells

Labor Day weekend, we went to Whitney's wedding.  We have celebrated many happy occasions with the Elseman family over the years and her wedding was another special event to put down in the books.  She was a beautiful bride!
The whole family was there.  I guess Dad was taking this pic.
