Christmas Eve

I didn't know how tired the girls would be after our celebration with Nonnie's side of the family, so we sprinkled our reindeer food on the lawn beforehand.

Abby played many games of Go Fish with Momo while she was here.  They played a round and the girls took a spin on their bikes while we waited on everyone else to arrive.

They were excited to get their own Aggie Tervis Tumblers.  They were just their size and  . . .

  . . . .had money inside!

Nonnie found these funny shotgun shell Christmas lights for Big Tommy and Bubba.  He has plans to hang them at his ranch.

Abby and Caroline were happy to assist Momo with almost all of her gifts.

Nonnie had a few more surprises up her sleeve that night.  The girls have been obsessed with The Wizard of Oz since seeing their friend perform.  She found all the props to the story online and red glitter shoes at Target.

Caroline got Little Bubba to be the Tin Man.

The girls immediately changed into the nightgowns Momo gave them.  It was a fun night with the White Families!

Christmas Eve Eve

The girls were feeling better the night before Christmas Eve so we went ahead with our tradition of having an Italian dinner and presents with Nonnie and Pops.

Before dinner, Abby and Caroline passed out presents and ...

. . .struck up a game of chess.  Abby is very interested in the rules and Caroline loves the pieces.

Yummy!  Nonnie made their favorites, spaghetti and garlic toast.

After dinner, it was time to get down to business!

Tinker Bell music boxes from Little Bubba were a hit!

Abby likes getting clothes.  It makes her seem so grown up.
Little Bubba gave Brent a new big blanket.
 Caroline ran over to snuggle.

We have some real entertainers now with this karaoke machine.

Nonnie was excited about her tickets to Peter Pan

Nonnie and Pops gave the girls bigger bikes.

They also got a new table and tea sets.  We have lots of new things to do over there now!

Change of Plans

The weekend before Christmas, we were supposed to go to the Matkin Christmas in East Texas.  We had a change of plans when Caroline woke up with fever Saturday morning. Instead, we headed to Cooks where she tested positive for flu and strep.  Abby tested negative, but was prescribed the same medicines as she had been exposed and was congested.  The girls were real troopers during our Dr. visit.

We were all bummed to miss our Christmas with the Matkin side.  The girls were especially disappointed not to go to Grandmother's and play with their second cousins.  Nonnie sent some presents over that morning to cheer them up.  They were excited to open something early. They opened some "liquid" sand.  It is pretty neat and this pic shows their personalities so well.  Abby rolled hers out smooth and Caroline squeezed and mashed hers.

I let them open their presents to each other that day also.  They each went shopping to pick out their gifts the week before and had been asking every day when they could exchange.
A big hug followed their gift exchange.

Abby also made a bracelet for Caroline with her name on it.  She was so proud!

The girls were so excited to get Sophia dolls and amulets from Grandmother.  They opened these before going to Cooks, so Sophia got to go with us and the nurses thought the light up amulets were so cool.
Nonnie also sent these Ariel blankets to open and the girls spent the majority of the day snuggled up watching movies.  Needless to say, we were concerned about our other upcoming Christmas plans with the rest of the family.  I am happy to report we recovered and got to spend Christmas with everyone else.  More to come on those festivities!

Choir Christmas Program

The week before Christmas, Abby and Caroline sang in a choir program at church.
