Goofy's Kitchen

We started having fun the moment we arrived in California.  Our hotel room wasn't ready, so we had a late lunch at a pizza place in Downtown Disney and let the girls pick out a toy at a shop.  Caroline fell asleep in the taxi on the way to the hotel and had a good nap.
The weather could not have been better during our stay.  As you can see, we quickly shed our jackets and it didn't rain a drop.
To our surprise, the big Disney Store did not have Peter Pan dolls, which the girls had their hearts set on.  We discovered the next day, there were no Peter Pan dolls anywhere in Disneyland!  We ended up having to get their Wendy dolls back in Grapevine at the outlet mall.  The first afternoon, they picked out their autograph books and these Sleeping Beauty light up toys Abby is holding up.
The manager felt so bad he didn't have what the girls really wanted, he gave them each a Peter Pan hat with their name stitched on it.  Our very own Peter now had a hat to wear.
Abby and Caroline met their first character in our hotel lobby on their way to change into their swimsuits.
I was shocked they weren't scared.  After some swimming, we got settled in our room.
We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which we would recommend to anyone.  It was a short walk through Downtown Disney to the parks and had awesome pools with slides and a fun restaurant, Goofy's Kitchen, where we ate the first night.
Ready to Dine with the Characters

Minnie walked us to our table.
The girls were so excited!
When Pluto walked up Caroline went into shy mode.  I think she was a little overwhelmed.
Not Abby.  She was dishing out high fives.
 Meeting Aladdin

They were so overwhelmed by their idol, Peter.  They didn't know what to do!

Caroline covered her eyes while he visited with us.  This dinner was a great introduction to Disneyland.
