August Highlights

We started off August with a roadtrip! We stopped at Buccee's on the way to GiGi and PawPaw's.  Pops gave the girls money to buy him his favorite snack, Beaver Nuggets.

The girls love Buccee's and had fun using the change to pick out some new rocks for their rock collection.

We had some bubble fun with new bubble blowers PawPaw picked out.

Saturday, we headed to League City for Carter's first birthday!

Aunt Lin and Uncle Gary with the Kids

Abby has really bonded with Uncle Gary, also known as the Tickle Monster.

The day after Carter's party, Brent headed home and we picked up Nonnie at the Houston airport.  The next stop was Momo's and a trip to the beach.
Abby had more seaweed to clean up.

We got new air mattresses and sheets to take with us on future trips.
Lots of games were played.

Last weekend, GiGi and PawPaw came to town for the circus.  The girls earned their tickets again this summer through the library program.
Caroline waved bye to the elephant.

We went down on the floor before the show and Caroline broke out some dance moves.

Abby didn't take her eyes off the show.

Caroline slept through the whole first half.

The lions gave me a scare when one growled at the tamer.

Abby ate almost a whole bag of popcorn.

 Look at those elephants!

Abby applauded with all her might for these 8 motorcycles in a cage!

Caroline said this dragon was Malificent in her dragon form from Sleeping Beauty.
That same weekend, we helped Josh celebrate his birthday!

Yesterday, I had a furniture sale and the girls sold lemonade and cupcakes.
Daddy and Pops were our best customers!

Abby and Caroline sampled their products while waiting for customers.

Some other highlights from August were the end of summer library party and the Critter Man show.  The girls were so excited our name was drawn for this art supply tub and they got to walk to the front and claim their prize.

The Critter Man showed us a snake, a barn owl and an opossum. Yuck!

Also, we were delighted to get some rain one evening.  We saw a full rainbow over our house and the girls had a goofy time acting like monkeys on the back porch while we watched the rain.  Check it out!
