Wow! I blinked and it was August! This post shows what we've been up to in July. We had a very low key and relaxing Fourth of July. We cooked out and swam with Nonnie and Pops and then saw the Southlake fireworks from the church parking lot. The girls liked wearing their PJs and sitting in the back of Daddy's truck.
The girls have been earning a quarter each day they complete the five chores on their chart. They have learned that four quarters equals a dollar and we go to Dollar Tree for them to shop with their change after they have saved a dollar.
It always takes a while for them to decide how they will spend their four quarters. It is such a big decision!
This day, they bought dinosaurs. Next month we are going to switch to dimes.
We went shopping one day for new dance leotards. Abby gets very excited to try on new outfits.
Caroline does not. She kept complaining, "these are too taggy." She also kept putting her foot on the shoe measuring tool and telling us how much she weighed.
We tried on lots of leotards. Well, Abby did anyway!
We saw lots of funny dress up clothes worn in July. The girls like to put on hilarious combinations and run around striking a pose.
The girls really enjoyed two different Little Mermaid shows with friends.
We made an attempt to get a picture with the puppet, but it was very crowded.
We also went to several programs at the library. This was Pint Size Polka.
Last weekend, we finally went to The Great Wolf Lodge!
Checking out their very own log cabin inside our room.
Looking at Little Bubba's top bunk.
Off to the Waterpark
Whee! They went on these slides a million times.
Abby is coaching Caroline on how to get across the logs.
This was another favorite they would wait in a long line for and did many times.
Caroline kept giving the wolf high fives.
At night, we headed to story time in the lobby. All the kids were in pajamas.
Abby and Caroline with Violet
Abby said her absolute favorite things were these lily pads and Caroline's favorite thing was jumping the waves.
We wrapped up July celebrating Cousin Jake's birthday! He is home from Kansas until the end of August.
Today marked the end of our summer swim lessons. We went Monday through Thursday two weeks in June and every week in July. The girls made great progress!
Abby is so proud she can go on her back all the way across this huge pool and has been invited to be on the junior stroke team. We'll see what our fall schedule looks like. It is quite a commitment.
Between all of these events and activities I painted the guestroom and upstairs. Whew! We also saw Monsters Inc., which the girls really liked. Now, on to a busy August!
