GiGi and PawPaw came to visit us Labor Day weekend.
Abby put them right to work on her Legos and Caroline was ready to have a tea party with PawPaw.
Caroline played school with GiGi for a long time and. . .
. . .we made a run to Toys R Us. Abby picked out a pair of baby animals for herself and a pair for Caroline. She just couldn't stay awake. They love to feed them and have a big plan to build them a house out of some boxes we've collected. Abby wants to paint it pink and purple and install an elevator with a pulley. That's what I get for teaching them about simple machines this summer.Caroline and I went to a swim party for her friend Emilie that Saturday.
While she was having a grand time with friends, Brent, Abby, GiGi and PawPaw were trying to figure out our leaking air conditioner. You read that right. It overflowed again! We just finished round two of repairs.
We concluded the Labor Day weekend with a trip to the Disney Store for Halloween costumes and one last swim at Nonnie and Pops'. The above pic is a sneak preview of Caroline as Tink. She was in full pretend mode later that week and posed for me.
The next weekend, the girls had their first roller skating experience. We went to Skate Town to help our friend down the street celebrate her birthday.
The girls made it around the rink a couple of times and were ready to hit the arcade games. I didn't get many pics of Abby because I was her helper and was in roller skates also. It wasn't the easiest task to roller skate while helping a five year old skate and snap pics.
We also enjoyed dinner on the patio at his On the Border.
Saturday morning, Nonnie and Pops took us to The American Girl store to make a Christmas list.

That afternoon, Caroline enjoyed Yogurtland with Nonnie and Pops while I took Abby to a birthday party.
We popped popcorn that night for our slumber party at their house.
Abby had parties galore in September! It was fun to get to know all the families and kids in her new class.
This one was at a park and they had the ice cream truck.
She liked the gigantic wand a clown made her at this princess party.
Caroline enjoyed several dates with Daddy while Abby was attending parties. One day, they went to Cabella's at her request. She wanted to shoot the guns.
I've had lots of playtime with Caroline while Abby is at school. She came out of her room one day as Sherriff Callie. We went on a hunt around the house for something to use for a lasso. She was satisfied with the twine we found. She finished her first session of swim lessons today and will start again in two weeks.
The last weekend in September was packed with events. We kicked off the weekend on Thursday night with dinner at the square and the Homecoming parade. Brent played in a golf tournament with some customers that day in East Texas, so Nonnie and Pops went with us.
Abby spotted Officer Frank. He is at her school all day every day. The kids adore him.
Our new friends from down the street sat with us.
It was exciting to see Caroline's teacher from last year in the parade.
The girls got tons of candy and goodies from all the school organizations.
Friday night, we tailgated with Kindergarten families from our neighborhood.
Our spot was next to the Emerald Belles (the drill team) and the girls were excited to see one of the Sunday School helpers from church.
We got a picture with her enormous mum.
Kick off was at 7:30, which is close to their bed time. They were both ready to leave right after the team ran out on the field.
When the snacks arrived, they stuck with it a little longer.
We headed home at the end of the first quarter, after eating and checking out the bugs in the sky. It was a fun, first Dragon Game.
Saturday, Caroline had a birthday party and Abby's school had a fundraiser. It was a carnival with the theme Dragonopoly. Her teacher, Mr. Francis, dressed as the Monopoly Man and greeted everyone as they walked in the door.
She was very proud and excited to perform this dance routine she learned in PE.
