July began with a remodel of our pool. It was exciting to watch the transformation and even more exciting to swim in the finished product.
Abby and Caroline thought it was so neat to walk down in the empty pool.
We are also building an outdoor living area. It was interesting to watch the cement truck and foundation being poured.
We enjoy the updated pool daily and are nearing the end of construction on the living space.
July meant lots of cold treats, . . .
. . .a trip to the movies to see Minions (We are looking forward to this Charlie Brown movie in the fall.) , . . .
. . .Chick- Fil-A lunches and . . .
. . .our annual lemonade stand and garage sale.
The girls cleaned out their games and toys and made quite a bit of money to go toward a new swing set.
They have also had fun swimming with Nonnie and Pops in their pool.
One day, they put on a parade around their house.
July was also filled with chopstick fun, . .
. . . a birthday party for the American Girl dolls, . . .
. . a visit to see Aunt Mary and Nonnie where they volunteer, . . .
. . . a teeth cleaning, . . .
. . . and Art Camp. Abby attended a three day art class at her school. These are her works of art. Her favorite projects were the watercolor painting and the clay fish.
The first day Abby was at art camp, Caroline and I joined a friend for ice cream and an animal show at the library.
Petting a Chinchilla
The second day, Nonnie took Caroline to Sunshine Glaze. She painted a cat and made a necklace.
They concluded their date with yogurt.
The last day of Abby's art, Caroline and two friends went to a three hour painting class at the Art House. She loved it!
Ta Da! She painted a peacock feather.
The last week of July we went to two musicals. The girls were excited to wear their Dorothy costumes to the Wizard of Oz performed by the theater department at our church.
The Toto dogs enjoyed the show with us.
Pics with the Cast:
The witch was very dark. Caroline passed on a pic with her.
Toto was their favorite character.
Nonnie went with us to see our neighbor perform in Mary Poppins at a theater in Lewisville. It was excellent and we were so proud to know one of the stars. She played the part of Michael Banks and was in almost every scene.
The girls always enjoy their down time at home. They built their dolls and animals a paper campfire one evening and played books on cd for them. It has been a fantastic summer and is passing way too quickly! The girls ended July with a trip to Spring. Stay tuned for pics of their adventures with GiGi and PawPaw.
